Job Description: Convenience Store Manager / Accountant
Position Overview:
The Convenience Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a convenience store, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and excellent customer service. This role involves managing staff, monitoring inventory, maintaining store standards, and ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the store to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.
- Bookkeeping, Profit and Loss, Bir Filings and Analyzation.
- Ensure the store is clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times.
- Monitor and maintain store equipment, coordinating repairs as needed.
- Implement company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
- Ensuring cash and other financial reports accurately
- Conducting merchandise orders and monitoring of stocks.
- Sales & Customer Service
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by providing excellent service.
- Address customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner.
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to increase revenue.
- Inventory & Stock Management
- Manage inventory levels to prevent stock shortages or overstocking.
- Order and receive stock, verifying quantities and quality.
- Reduce losses by preventing theft, spoilage, or damage to merchandise.
- Staff Supervision & Training
- Hire, train, schedule, and supervise store employees.
- Ensure staff follows safety, security, and operational guidelines.
- Motivate employees to maintain high performance and productivity.
- Financial Management
- Handle cash management, including daily cash register balancing and bank deposits.
- Track store expenses and control costs to maximize profitability.
- Analyze sales reports and implement improvements to meet revenue targets.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food handling regulations.
- Enforce company policies on loss prevention and security.
- Maintain proper documentation and reporting as required by company and legal standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Financial Management or any business retail management is a plus).
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in retail management, preferably in a convenience store or similar setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to handle cash and financial transactions accurately.
- Knowledge of inventory control, sales analysis, and store operations.
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems and basic computer skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Work Environment & Schedule:
- Fast-paced retail environment requiring standing for long periods.
- May involve lifting and stocking inventory.
- Flexible work schedule, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
