Job Summary:
The Technical Procurement Specialist is responsible for the timely and cost-effective sourcing and acquisition of equipment, spare parts, facilities, supplies, and engineering-related projects and services for various business units across the organization.

The role ensures that procurement activities are aligned with company policies, operational requirements, and regulatory standards while maintaining strong supplier partnerships and supporting overall procurement efficiency.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Process purchase requisitions and ensure timely delivery of materials and services within approved budget and specifications.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best commercial and contractual terms.
  • Handle procurement requirements for equipment, spare parts, facilities, and civil, mechanical, and electrical projects and services.
  • Conduct supplier accreditation, performance evaluation, and relationship management to ensure reliability and service quality.
  • Resolve supplier-related concerns affecting material availability, delivery schedules, and overall supply flow.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, QA, Production, and other business units on plant-related projects, expansions, rehabilitation works, preventive maintenance, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing movements, and supply conditions to support strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Ensure all procured materials and services comply with applicable safety, health, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Support procurement process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the team.
  • Manage special projects involving disposal of obsolete, slow-moving, and non-moving assets and materials.
  • Maintain compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Participate in continuous learning activities to strengthen technical, procurement, and systems knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Electrical, or related disciplines.
  • Exposure to Supply Chain and Finance functions related to Procurement is an advantage.
  • With 3–5 years of experience in procurement, buying, or supply chain roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment; however, fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, machinery, and industrial equipment is required.
  • Knowledge of customs clearance, plant safety standards, and civil, mechanical, chemical, and electrical project requirements is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledgeable in MRP/ERP systems and procurement or purchase order platforms.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
