Fitter/welder

Performs welding, fitting, and fabrication works on high-grade materials such as Titanium, Super Duplex Stainless Steel, Duplex, and Carbon Steel. Ensures all works comply with approved procedures, client specifications, and applicable international standards while adhering to Philippine occupational safety and labor regulations.
- 0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welding Activities
- Execute welding using GTAW (TIG), SMAW, FCAW processes.
- Perform root pass welding using TIG for high-integrity piping systems.
- Apply proper purging techniques (argon back purging) for corrosion-resistant alloys.
- Maintain control of heat input and interpass temperature to avoid metallurgical defects.
- Fitting and Fabrication
- Read and interpret isometric drawings, P&IDs, and fabrication drawings.
- Perform cutting, beveling, alignment, and fit-up of pipes and structures.
- Assemble piping systems, valves, and equipment based on specifications.
- Material Handling
- Ensure proper handling of Titanium and exotic materials to avoid contamination.
- Use dedicated tools for stainless and non-ferrous materials.
- Conduct proper cleaning and preparation prior to welding.
- Quality Assurance
- Follow approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
- Coordinate with QA/QC for inspection and testing (e.g., NDT).
- Ensure compliance with ASME, AWS, ISO, or client standards.
- Maintain records of work performed as required.
- Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
- Comply with Occupational Safety and Health Standards under Republic Act No. 11058 and DOLE regulations.
- Use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Participate in toolbox meetings, safety training, and risk assessments.
- 2 Overall responsibility for the workshop and site activities, including
Ensuring that all work is carried out to a high quality standard that meets the company and customer requirement
Provide assistance and support to personnel within your team.
Highlight any performance issues to workshop supervisor
Raise workshop/site improvements or suggestions on facilities, procedures, trainings and safety
Observe Callidus safety standards on site environment
Adherence to client safety culture and policies
Represent Callidus on site on a high level standard
Complete site activities and assist client to a high level of standard- 0 COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
- Vocational / Technical course in Welding, Fabrication, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years relevant experience in:
- Titanium welding
- Super Duplex / Duplex Stainless Steel
- Experience in Mineral processing plant, oil & gas, petrochemical, or power plant projects preferred.
- Valid welding certification (e.g., ASME Section IX, AWS).
- TESDA National Certificate (NC II or higher) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of welding metallurgy and procedures.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings.
- High attention to detail and workmanship quality.
- May involve field/site work, confined spaces, and elevated areas.
- Exposure to heat, fumes, and industrial environments.

All incidents and near misses must be reported to management / safety as soon as practically possible

Ensure JSA’s and lift plans are used for all work carried out. Assess these for suitability and adequacy
