Purchasing Officer

Job Description:

• Develop and implement an effective purchasing strategy aligned with operational needs
• Review, process, and monitor purchase orders to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain accurate records of goods ordered and received.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve optimal value.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Evaluate and compare supplier offers based on quality, delivery timelines, and cost.
• Conduct site visits to vendor locations as necessary.
• Track orders and coordinate with logistics to ensure on-time delivery.
• Inspect and review the quality of purchased goods upon receipt.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related role; experience in the mining or heavy industry is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively.
• Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
• Willing to travel to supplier or vendor locations as required.
