The Account Executive/Planner is responsible for the successful execution of campaigns. This includes making sure information is accurately shared with the team, interacting with clients, and reporting to the Business Unit Director.

To succeed in this role, one must deeply understand market trends and client needs, be highly organized, and have the ability to juggle multiple tasks at once. By building solid relationships and communicating clearly, the Account Executive/Planner plays a critical role in every campaign's success.

To build strong relationships, an account executive/planner should show genuine interest in the client. Keeping everyone informed is key to completing projects on time and within budget. The Business Unit Director often provides a campaign plan to the Account Executive/Planner, who then oversees progress, keeps momentum going, and promotes a positive atmosphere.

This means encouraging innovative ideas through teamwork and managing deliverables and deadlines effectively. The main goal is to make sure the client's goals are met, leading to successful outcomes for both the client and the agency.

Responsibilities

Planning and Management Scope of work
  1. Work with clients, account directors, and creatives to plan and realize successful campaigns
  2. Meet the client to learn the background of the brand, and to advise on possible approaches to the target market, identify business problems and develop ideas
  3. Ensure that ‘all data relevant to key advertising decisions should be properly analyzed, complemented with new research, and brought to bear on judgements of creative strategy and how the campaign should be appraised’.
  4. Communicate with colleagues within the agency, such as creatives, digital and accounts team, throughout the campaign development
  5. Find an 'angle' on a specific product or service on which to base an advertising campaign or the client requirements.
  6. Research the product or service to be advertised, which may involve gaining technical or specific knowledge of the category and industry.
  7. Analyze the demographics, socio-economics and market for the client's product to provide context for your advertising strategies
  8. Reconcile the differences between consumers' current perceptions of the brand and the way the client wishes the brand to be perceived.
  9. Provide the creative team with a clearly defined brief that contains concise information on the product, audience and strategy.
  10. Present conclusions and ideas to clients and other agency or account team members.
  11. Manage day-to-day tasks with accounts team, sourcing of third party or specialized services, and other administrative related to campaigns.
