ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Job Summary

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall accounting operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective internal controls. This role provides leadership to the accounting team, collaborates with various departments to support business objectives, and contributes to the company’s financial strategy and operational efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Direct and supervise the day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and revenue assurance.
  • Oversee monthly and year-end closing activities, including the review of journal entries, reconciliations, variance analyses, and financial reporting packages.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and management reports to support decision-making.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor accounting processes and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of tax reporting packages and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits.
  • Partner with Finance and departmental managers to manage expenses and support overall business plan objectives.
  • Work closely with Operations and IT in the development and management of revenue assurance processes.
  • Monitor credit risk management and oversee A/R collections, including bad debt reserves.
  • Provide recommendations on complex accounting and business issues, and develop action plans for resolution.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the accounting team, including handling employment decisions, performance appraisals, and staff training.
  • Foster collaboration across Finance, Operations, and other departments to improve efficiency and alignment with business goals.
  • Lead or assist in special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned by senior management.
  • Assists with special projects, as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA license preferred).
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, tax compliance, and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
