Job Description:As an Actuarial Analyst, you'll be at the forefront of collecting, organizing, interpreting, analyzing, and documenting complex data sets. Your role will involve modeling complex problems, reconciling data sets, analyzing trends, and summarizing data for review and analysis.You'll also create queries, views, and reports to support our actuarial pricing team.
Responsibilities:
- Support the actuarial pricing teamin Construction, Energy, Alternative Markets, National Accounts & High Excess Workers Compensation.
- Engage in large account pricingwith underwriters, working on customized deals for various sectors.
- Build our new middle market casualty businessfrom the ground up.
- Lead research effortsto enhance our pricing edge and sophistication.
- Model and process enhancements
- Conduct parameter studies
- Monitor prices
- Prepare benchmark reports
- Analyze collateral for captive accounts
- Handle ad-hoc requests
- Perform independentlyand meet deadlines with some guidance from your supervisor.
- Conduct ad-hoc pricing analysis
Qualifications:
- Curiosity, motivation, and a self-teaching attitude
- Hard-working, detail-oriented, and committed to quality and accuracy
- Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, and VBA
- Understanding of insurance and actuarial concepts and methodologies
- Strong analytical, database, and Excel skills
- Excellent prioritization and time management skills
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- A team player with leadership attributes
- Availability to work from 9am-6pm EST, with an option to switch to an earlier shift after one year
Additional Information:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as actuarial science, statistics, computer science, mathematics, economics, or operations research
- 2 to 5 years of casualty actuarial work experience
- 2 to 4 casualty actuarial exams
