About the role

Select Goods is seeking a Finance Assistant (Inventory) to join our Finance team on a full-time basis at our office in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Metro Manila. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our inventory financial records and supporting the wider financial accounting and reporting function.

As a Finance Assistant (Inventory), you will play a crucial role in maintaining our inventory accounting systems, reconciling stock records, and ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your financial accounting expertise whilst contributing directly to the financial health of our organisation.

Key responsibilities
  1. Maintaining and reconciling inventory records in the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all systems
  2. Processing inventory transactions, including receipts, adjustments, and write-offs with appropriate documentation and approval
  3. Performing regular inventory counts and variance analysis to identify discrepancies and investigate root causes
  4. Assisting in the preparation of inventory schedules for financial statements and management reporting
  5. Supporting the month-end and year-end close processes, particularly related to inventory valuation and cutoff procedures
  6. Maintaining accurate records of inventory movements and ensuring proper coding and classification
  7. Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of inventory accounting policies and procedures
  8. Liaising with warehouse, procurement and operations teams to ensure inventory data integrity
  9. Supporting the resolution of inventory discrepancies and preparing explanatory documentation
  10. Assisting with audits and providing supporting documentation to internal and external auditors
What we're looking for
  1. A diploma or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  2. Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems, with experience in inventory management modules
  3. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create formulas, pivot tables and perform data analysis
  4. A solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles and inventory valuation methods (FIFO, LIFO, weighted average)
  5. Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy
  6. The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively and meet tight deadlines
  7. Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
  8. Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments
  9. Experience in financial accounting and reporting within a similar role would be advantageous
  10. Familiarity with internal control procedures and compliance requirements is preferred
