Senior Test Engineer - BSS

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test cases, including functional, regression, integration, and system tests.
• Analyze user stories and requirements to evaluate feasibility and clarity.

• Identify, log, and track software defects to closure while ensuring clear communication with the development team.
• Participate directly in release planning and provide formal quality gate sign-offs.

• Participate in go-live preparation by completing smoke tests, readiness checklists, cutover rehearsals, and rollback validation steps.
• Provide dedicated hypercare test support, which includes monitoring post-release application health, conducting live verification of critical business transactions, and assisting in the rapid triage and verification of post-release anomalies.

• Work collaboratively with DevOps and product management teams to map out and plan test and release cycles.
• Contribute to and advocate for a strong QA mindset across the entire development lifecycle.

• Build and maintain automated test scripts covering both frontend and backend systems.
• Provide detailed test execution reports and recommend informed release decisions based on the results.

• Active participation in regular daily and weekly team cadences.
• Commit to continuous upskilling, such as dedicating 1 hour per week to technical study.
• Share QA knowledge, tools, and testing techniques with the broader team.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3–4 years of QA or software development experience.
• Testing Knowledge: Strong knowledge of manual and automated testing techniques.
• Domain Expertise: Proven experience testing enterprise applications, with a preference for B/OSS systems.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in at least one programming language and familiar with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Work Setup: Ability to work in an On-site capacity.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Solid technical foundation in test automation and test design.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills across both technical and business teams.
• Proactive, self-managed, and eager to learn emerging QA tools and industry trends.
• An adaptable and highly collaborative team player.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket).
• Experience working with test automation frameworks, specifically:
• Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)
• Keyword-Driven or Data-Driven Testing
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and standard test lifecycle documentation.
• Exposure to tools such as Jenkins Pipelines, CI/CD, GitLab, and various Bug Logging tools.
