Financial Reporting Analyst
Position Summary
As a Financial Reporting Analyst, you will be responsible for preparing accurate financial reports, supporting financial analysis, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, assisting with audits and tax reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls.You will collaborate with the finance team to deliver timely and accurate financial information while supporting various accounting and reporting functions.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and update financial statements, budget vs. actual reports, and other financial analyses in a timely manner while ensuring compliance with IFRS and/or ASPE.
- Present financial statements and financial analyses to management.
- Research and prepare financial accounting memorandums.
- Support external financial reporting requirements.
- Serve as a liaison during external audits and coordinate with finance leadership.
- Review financial information included in filings, presentations, and other reporting materials.
- Assist with financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Prepare tax returns as required.
- Complete GST/PST filings and related examinations.
- Support core accounting functions, including:
- Account reconciliations
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Accruals
- Monitoring capital expenditures or work orders
- Assist in monitoring and documenting internal controls.
- Participate in ad hoc financial analyses, due diligence, financial models, and special projects.
- Collaborate with accounting team members to ensure complete and accurate financial records.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and lawful management directives.
- Maintain professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in all financial matters.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong experience preparing financial statements in accordance with IFRS and/or ASPE.
- Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Knowledge of tax preparation, GST/PST filings, and external audit support.
- Hands-on accounting experience including reconciliations, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, accruals, and internal controls.
- Experience preparing financial accounting memorandums and technical accounting research.
- Financial modeling and forecasting experience.
- Experience reviewing financial disclosures, presentations, or regulatory filings.
- Experience participating in due diligence, special projects, or corporate transactions.
