Job Description:
The SAP BW Reporting Consultant is responsible for the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of SAP BW systems to support enterprise reporting and analytics. The role involves translating business requirements into scalable data warehousing solutions, ensuring high-quality data models, efficient reporting structures, and system reliability.The consultant works closely with global stakeholders, SAP teams, PMO, and implementation partners to deliver end-to-end reporting solutions. This position reports directly to the Global Reporting Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze business processes and reporting requirements to design effective SAP BW/BI/SAC solutions
- Design, develop, and maintain data models, data extraction, loading, and transformation processes (ETL)
- Perform unit testing, system integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for SAP BW/BI/SAC systems
- Deliver end-user training and support adoption of reporting solutions
- Develop and maintain technical documentation in compliance with CSV (Computer System Validation) standards
- Collaborate with global reporting users, SAP teams, PMO, and external implementation partners
- Ensure system integration across SAP modules and reporting platforms (SAP ERP, BI/BO, SAC)
- Conduct system performance monitoring, optimization, and regular audits
- Stay updated with the latest SAP BW/BI/SAC features and industry best practices
- 3–5 years of experience as an SAP BW Reporting Consultant or in a similar role
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Strong expertise in SAP BW, BI/BO, and SAC tools (data modeling, reporting, ETL processes) - required
- Experience with SAP ERP systems integration
- Proficiency in SQL and database technologies (required)
- Strong understanding of business intelligence and data warehousing concepts
- Experience in testing (unit, integration, UAT) and system deployment
- Knowledge of CSV compliance and regulatory standards (FDA 21 CFR Part 11, EU GMP Annex 11, GAMP)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and in a global, multicultural, fast-paced environment
- English proficiency required; Japanese language is a plus
- Flexible, service-oriented, and able to manage project-based deliverables and timelines
- Experience in international or cross-functional environments is an advantage
