Job Summary

The Food Applicator and Sensory Analyst play a crucial role in the development, optimization, and sensory evaluation of food products. This position requires a unique blend of culinary expertise, sensory analysis skills, and creativity to ensure that our food products meet high standards of taste, texture, aroma and appearance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that food products meet quality and safety standards by conducting quality control checks and implementing quality assurance protocols.
  • Monitor product performance and conduct troubleshooting as needed to address quality issues
  • Maintain accurate records of formulation adjustments, sensory evaluations and quality control data
  • Design and execute sensory tests and evaluations to assess the sensory attributes (e.g., appearance, aroma, taste, texture) of food products
  • Conduct sensory evaluations and analysis to gather feedback on new and existing food products, ensuring consistency and reliability in sensory evaluations
  • Analyze sensory data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for product improvement and innovation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including chefs, marketers and quality assurance professionals, to ensure alignment of product development efforts with business objectives
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and sensory science research to enhance testing practices and methodologies
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, labeling requirements and industry standards
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on food product development processes, sensory evaluation techniques and quality assurance practices
  • Maintain detailed documentation of food product formulations, sensory evaluations and quality control processes
  • Prepare reports, presentations and technical documents to communicate project updates, findings and recommendations
  • Clean, maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and instruments regularly to ensure accuracy and reliability
Qualifications
  • Licensed Chemist/Chemical Technician
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in food product development, culinary arts, sensory analysis, or a related field
  • Have strong understanding of food chemistry, microbiology. food safety principles, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience in formulating food products and conducting sensory evaluations
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and quality assurance protocols
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
