Job Summary
The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (Mechanical) provides technical representation and support in supplier selection by evaluating suppliers’ technical capabilities and capacity to meet AE requirements. Conducts comprehensive technical assessments to ensure suppliers can deliver products and services at the required quality standards.This role will report to the Senior Quality Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Assists in development of commodity strategy by working closely with commodity groups.
- Ensures that approved suppliers conform to all conditions defined in our Supplier Quality System Manual and provide evidence of continuous improvement in the quality of their output.
- Review and respond to the SCB/PCN timely.
- Audit key suppliers regularly and prepare the audit report.
- Drive SCAR until root cause is clear and support with proper solution result.
- Provide "Knowledge Transfer" training to all new suppliers to ensure they are fully understood AE requirement and business process.
- Prepare SBR (Supplier Business Review, aka QBR/PBR) for the Quality section and attend.
- Regular review FMEA and SPM (Supplier Process Management Plan) with vendors to ensure improvement and process control are in place.
- Review, track, and analyze annual quality data and provide QIP (Quality Improvement Plan).
- At least 3-5 years of working experience in Machining / Sheet Metal / Plastic Injection industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in electronic & electrical / mechanical engineering or science/ Physics.
- Experience in the mechanical manufacturing process and quality control.
- Experience in the quality tools application such as SPC, FMEA, 8D etc., preferably Six Sigma green belt/ black belt certified.
- Knowledge in ISO procedure and requirement.
- Experience in auditing, qualifying and selecting suppliers.
- Experience in supplier management for continuous quality improvement.
- Able to interpret Mechanical drawing, preferably knowledge in Geometry Dimensioning Tolerance (GDT) (Mech. Eng).
- Some travel will be required.
- Good oral and writing communication skills in English.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Proficient in other Microsoft applications.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Experienced in related measurement equipment.
