Manila - Systems Administrator (LINUX) - ASAP!!!
Ascendion is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator (Windows/Linux) to join our dynamic and growing team. This is a full-time position based in our offices located in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Metro Manila. In this role, you will be responsible for the smooth operation and maintenance of our Windows and Linux-based systems, as well as our virtualization and cloud infrastructure, ensuring our systems remain reliable, secure, and efficient.
What you'll be doing- Manage and administer Windows Server and Linux-based servers, including web, application, and database servers both on-premise and in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems and related roles and features.
- Manage and maintain our VMware virtualization environment (e.g., vSphere, ESXi, vCenter).
- Monitor system performance across all environments, identify and resolve issues, and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime.
- Develop and maintain scripts for automation, system backups, and disaster recovery procedures, including cloud-based backup and recovery solutions.
- Implement and maintain security measures, such as access control, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems, ensuring compliance with cloud and virtualization security best practices.
- Configure and maintain VPN connectivity for secure remote access.
- Collaborate with the development team to ensure seamless integration between infrastructure and applications, including cloud-native applications and services.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users on Windows, Linux, virtualization, and cloud-related issues.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Windows Server, Linux, virtualization technologies, cloud services and trends, best practices, and security trends.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Systems Administrator, with demonstrable experience in managing Windows and Linux environments, virtualization, and cloud environments.
- Strong proficiency in Windows Server and Linux administration, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with popular Linux distributions (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, RHEL) and Windows Server versions.
- Proven experience in installing, configuring, and managing VMware environments (e.g., vSphere, ESXi, vCenter).
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), including services such as compute, storage, networking, and security.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Perl.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and firewalls, as well as cloud networking concepts (e.g., VPCs, subnets, security groups) and VPN technologies.
- Experience with monitoring and automation tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Puppet, Ansible), including cloud-specific and virtualization monitoring and automation tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability 1 to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Can start ASAP and okay with Full RTO at BGC, Taguig
