Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Cable & Wire Harness) to own and optimize our harness assembly workflows. Moving between design and the production floor, you will drive efficiency in a high-mix environment, ensure strict compliance with industry standards, and serve as a technical coach to our assembly team.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and standardize end-to-end assembly sequences, including cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, routing, and testing.
• Create visual work instructions and design specialized fixtures or error-proofing methods to ensure repeatable output.
• Partner with Quality to maintain compliance for stringent aerospace and power industry expectations.
• Act as the primary technical resource to resolve real-time assembly challenges.
• Lead troubleshooting for defects (e.g., crimp failures, solder voids, continuity issues) and implement permanent CAPAs.
• Drive improvements in yield and throughput while reducing scrap and rework.
• Apply Lean tools (line balancing, ergonomic workstation layout, visual management) to labor-driven workflows.
• Partner with Design Engineering early in the lifecycle to optimize routing and component selection for manufacturability.
• Coordinate First Article Inspections (FAI) and establish production readiness for new programs.
• Train and mentor floor technicians on workmanship standards to elevate overall shop capability.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Procurement to ensure material readiness and support component vendor development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
• 3+ years in cable, wire harness, and electromechanical manufacturing.
• Deep familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD-001 standards; experience with harness test equipment (e.g., Cirris).
