Finance Director

About the role

This role is integral to driving the financial health and growth of the organisation, reporting directly to senior leadership and serving as a key member of the executive team.

1. Developing and implementing comprehensive financial strategies that align with organisational objectives and support long-term growth
2. Overseeing the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, reports and analyses in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
3. Managing budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and recommendations for financial improvement
4. Supervising and leading the accounting team, including recruitment, training, performance management and professional development
5. Implementing and maintaining effective internal controls and financial systems to ensure the integrity of financial data
6. Conducting financial analysis to identify trends, risks and opportunities for cost optimisation and revenue enhancement
7. Ensuring compliance with tax regulations, audit requirements and other financial statutory obligations
8. Collaborating with senior management and department heads to provide financial insights and support decision-making
9. Managing cash flow, working capital and treasury operations to optimise liquidity
10. Overseeing external audit relationships and managing audit processes

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent is highly desirable
2. Minimum of 8 years' experience in financial management roles, with at least 3 years in a senior financial leadership position
3. Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards and tax compliance
4. Proficiency in financial management systems and accounting software; experience with ERP systems is advantageous
5. Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present insights clearly
6. Excellent leadership and team management capabilities, with experience building and developing high-performing teams
7. Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
8. Sound understanding of internal controls, audit processes and compliance requirements
9. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
11. Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities with a focus on business improvement
12. Integrity, discretion and a professional approach to handling sensitive financial information
