Maintenance Management:

Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all hospital facilities, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance tasks.

Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.

Facilities Planning and Development:

  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to plan and execute facility expansion projects, renovations, and upgrades.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed facility improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and healthcare standards in all construction and renovation activities.
  • Equipment Procurement and Management:
  • Identify equipment needs and collaborate with procurement teams to source and purchase medical and non-medical equipment.
  • Develop and maintain an inventory management system for tracking equipment, spare parts, and supplies.
  • Oversee the installation, calibration, and maintenance of medical equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols, including fire safety, electrical safety, and hazardous waste management, in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with healthcare accreditation standards.
  • Develop and conduct staff training programs on safety procedures and emergency response protocols.

Budgeting and Cost Control:

  • Prepare and manage the departmental budget, allocating resources effectively to support ongoing operations and capital projects.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings through energy efficiency measures, waste reduction initiatives, and contract negotiations.
  • Monitor expenses and analyze financial reports to track performance against budgetary targets.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Foster collaboration and teamwork across departments to achieve common goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional certification (e.g., Certified Healthcare Facility Manager, Professional Engineer) is a plus.
  • Proven experience in facilities management, preferably in a healthcare setting, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role.
  • In-depth knowledge of building systems, regulatory requirements, and healthcare facility standards.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Proficiency in project management software, computer-aided design (CAD) tools, and facility management systems.
