Job Summary
The Lead Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, and execution of carrier‑grade network projects across core, access, and IP platforms. This role provides technical leadership, Tier 3 NOC support, and expertise in technologies such as Carrier Ethernet, GPON, IP Core, BGP, and optical transport.The Lead Engineer works closely with pre‑sales, product, and operations teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and high‑quality network services.
Key Duties & Responsibilities- Lead network planning, design, and engineering for:
- Carrier Ethernet Networks (Core, Edge, Access)
- GPON / XGSPON
- IP Core, Public IP addressing, and BGP peering
- Secondary technologies: OTN, DWDM, SDH
- Conduct Proof of Concept (POC) and equipment type approval, including hardware and logical configuration testing
- Provide Tier 3 NOC support for escalated and complex network issues
- Support Pre‑Sales and Product teams for non‑standard or special customer projects
- Provide technical support to internal teams as required
- Coordinate with equipment vendors for design finalization, quotations, and procurement
- Ensure projects meet network functional objectives and ISO quality standards
- Lead and mentor junior engineers; guide execution and troubleshooting activities
- Willingness to work extended hours when required by project or operational needs
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics / ECE), Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or any IT‑related course
- At least 5 years of experience in network design, implementation, or related telecom engineering roles
- Strong hands‑on experience with routers, switches, and optical transport equipment
- Solid knowledge of VLAN, STP/RSTP, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, NAT, DNS, MPLS, OSPF, and BGP
- Working knowledge of OTN, WDM/DWDM, and SDH
- Proficient in MS Office and technical documentation/presentations
- Strong analytical, planning, and communication skills; able to work under pressure and extended hours
