Job Summary
The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the company's financial operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, managing budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.This role provides strategic financial insights to support business decisions while leading the finance and accounting team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Finance and Accounting Department.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), BIR regulations, SEC requirements, and other applicable government regulations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal financial controls and accounting policies.
- Lead the budgeting, financial planning, and forecasting processes.
- Monitor company cash flow and working capital to ensure financial stability.
- Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, treasury, payroll, and fixed asset management.
- Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, banks, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax preparation, filing, and payment.
- Identify financial risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior management and executive meetings.
- Monitor compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
- Mentor, coach, and evaluate the performance of finance team members.
- Support business expansion, investment analysis, and strategic financial planning.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
- Master's degree (MBA or related field) is an advantage.
- At least 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with 3–5 years in a managerial or controller role.
- Experience in healthcare, retail, or multi-branch operations is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of PFRS, taxation, auditing, budgeting, and financial management.
- Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
