About the Role:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of a growing e-commerce business. This role is ideal for someone experienced in handling high-volume transactions, inventory-related accounting, and online sales platforms.

Schedule:

  • Mondays to Fridays, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm (Australian Eastern Time, 40 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record and maintain daily financial transactions across multiple sales channels
  • Reconcile bank accounts, payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, PayPal), and credit cards
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Perform regular reconciliation of eCommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Amazon, or similar)
  • Track the cost of goods sold (COGS) and assist with inventory accounting
  • Prepare monthly financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
  • Support BAS/tax preparation (if applicable) and liaise with external accountants
  • Assist with payroll processing and expense management
  • Ensure accurate data entry and maintain organized financial records

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably in e-commerce or retail
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Experience with MYOB
  • Familiarity with eCommerce platforms and payment processors
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with inventory management systems
  • Knowledge of Australian accounting practices (e.g., BAS, GST)
  • Experience working remotely with international teams
