Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Finance & Accounting Officer located in Makati. The Finance & Accounting Officer will be responsible for maintaining financial records, performing various accounting duties, preparing financial reports, and assisting with audits.The Finance & Accounting Officer will also ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded and will help to develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
BIR Compliance and Regulation:
Knowledgeable in BIR filing and compliance. Process payment in the government-mandatory contribution (Online). Assist in the preparation for audits and regulatory filings.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information by reconciling accounts and transactions.
Have background in Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR):
Experienced in managing end-to-end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment handling, customer billing, collections, and account reconciliation. Skilled in maintaining accurate records, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely financial transactions.
Cash Management:
Monitor cash flow and liquidity. Prepare cash forecasts and manage banking relationships. Ensure timely deposit of cash receipts and disbursement of payments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and verify supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy, timely payments, and compliance with financial controls.
- Reconcile supplier statements, resolve discrepancies, and maintain records of purchase orders, contracts, and payment schedules.
- Generate and issue customer invoices, follow up on overdue payments, and reconcile customer accounts.
- Prepare and analyze aging reports, ensuring accurate recording of collections and deposits.
- Prepare and file tax returns (VAT, withholding tax, corporate income tax) while ensuring compliance with local tax laws.
- Assist with tax audits and maintain documentation for tax-related transactions, staying updated on regulations.
- Prepare and process checks for payments, verifying supporting documents and coordinating with banks for disbursements.
- Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting standards.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting by compiling relevant financial information.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements related to financial reporting.
- Support external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation and reconciliations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Proven work experience as a General Accountant, or in a similar position
- Knowledgeable in BIR Filing/compliance and bookkeeping.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
- Experience with accounting software, such as Quickbooks or Xero & MS Excel (Vlookup, pivot)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently under pressure
- CPA certification preferred but not required
