Electrical Design Lead

Job Summary:

The Electrical Design Lead is responsible for leading and overseeing all electrical design activities across renewable energy and power infrastructure projects. This role manages a team of engineers and designers to ensure the delivery of safe, reliable, and cost-effective electrical designs that align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise the electrical design team across multiple projects, ensuring timely and high-quality design deliverables.
• Support the design of solar PV systems, including layout, string sizing, power collection, and grid interconnection.
• Provide technical supervision for substation design, including primary and secondary systems, earthing, protection.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards (IEC, IEEE, BS, NEC, and local regulations).
• Coordinate with civil, structural, and mechanical teams to ensure integrated and optimized design solutions.
• Support business development by providing technical input for proposals, and cost estimations.
• Provide support to junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
• Support the development and review of high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical designs, including single-line diagrams, protection schemes, and control systems.
• Knowledge of ETAP or other electrical analysis software is an advantage.
• Review, validate, and may approve design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Apply professional engineer’s stamp and signature to drawings post-review, in line with licensure regulations and established liability waiver policies.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a valid PRC license and authority to sign and seal engineering documents.
• Minimum of 3-5 years and above years of relevant experience in electrical design engineering, with substantial experience in renewable energy, substations, power systems, and industrial or utility-scale projects.
• At least 3–5 years of leadership or supervisory experience managing engineering or design teams.
• Strong knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards and Philippine Electrical Code (PEC).
• Excellent leadership, project coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
