Accounting Manager (Real Estate)

Job description:

The Finance and Accounting Manager will be instrumental in supporting senior management with decision-making by providing accurate financial data, strategic insights, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes, ensuring alignment with company goals and industry trends.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights on cost structures, profitability, and cash flow for strategic decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, tax laws, and industry-specific standards.
• Coordinate with external auditors and assist with the preparation of annual financial statements for audit.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
• Support the development and implementation of long-term financial strategies that support the company’s growth objectives in the power industry.
• Ensure cost-effective management of capital and operational expenditures.
• Track project performance and provide proactive recommendations for improving financial outcomes.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accountants and finance professionals to build a high-performing department.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging best practices and professional development.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting from the accounting team to meet organizational objectives.

Qualifications: Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (required).
• Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) are required.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Experience in the real estate, power, energy, or utility industry is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting systems, and internal controls.
• Proven track record in managing financial operations for large-scale projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
