About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Accounting VA to join our property management team. This remote role will manage financial operations for our UK rental properties, with additional support for a Swiss company.

This position will initially be part-time. We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate immediate competence, accuracy, and autonomy in handling our accounts. The role will scale to a full-time position as soon as you show you are fully capable of handling the expanded responsibilities and workload.

If you have proven expertise in Xero and ideally Arthur property management software, excel at payroll, and can independently optimize financial processes, we encourage you to apply!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily accounting for UK rental properties using Xero and Arthur Online.
  • Generate monthly rental and owner statements for tenants and landlords; track payments and rental arrears in Arthur.
  • Prepare end-of-tenancy statements.
  • Handle supplier and contractor payments.
  • Accurately process monthly payroll for our cleaning team and Philippines staff.
  • Ensure all monthly utility bills across all tenancies are tracked and managed (including utility top-ups).
  • Reach out to utility companies to arrange and manage all account logins and monthly payments.
  • Check and verify all related payments across the portfolio for both residential tenancies and serviced accommodations.
  • Track and log all purchases across the portfolio.
  • Manage all company subscriptions payments.
  • Identify and implement improvements to financial workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with the property management and operations teams.
  • Assist with other ad-hoc accounting, administrative, and customer relations tasks for both UK and Swiss entities.

Qualifications:

  • High proficiency in Xero or other similar sytems is a plus
  • Accounting experience, preferably in property management, with international exposure.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Proven ability to create and implement efficient financial processes.
  • Strong Advantage: Hands-on experience with Arthur property management software.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, adaptable to UK and basic Swiss concepts.
  • Experience with payroll computation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Financial Management, or related field.
  • CPA certification or equivalent is a plus.
