Qualifications for Electrical Engineer

To be a successful candidate for this role, you must have the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Preferably licensed Electrical Engineer.
• More than 5 years of work experience in Solar PV-Diesel Hybrid systems, Energy Storage Systems (ESS), and Medium Voltage (7.97/13.8kV) Distribution Line projects.
• Strong proficiency in power distribution, power systems, and specialized knowledge of Power & Energy Management Systems (PEMS).
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, electrical design software, and solar modeling tools (e.g., PVSyst or HOMER)
• Proven ability to lead EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects and manage manpower effectively under strict deadlines.
• Solid understanding of Philippine Electrical Code, and ERC (Energy Regulatory Commission) requirements for metering and interconnection.
• Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience in project management, team leadership, and mentoring junior engineers is an advantage
• Excellent English interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to meet strict project deadlines and work effectively under pressure

1. Project Design & Engineering

• Plan and design hybrid power systems, including Solar PV arrays (200kWp–250kWp), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and diesel generator integration.
• Prepare and analyze electrical designs, layouts, load calculations, and technical drawings using AutoCAD.
• Conduct site surveys for solar farm layouts and distribution line routes to identify and mitigate technical issues early.

1. Field Supervision & Technical Works

• Supervise the installation and configuration of PEMS to ensure seamless synchronization between PV, Diesel, and ESS components.
• Oversee the erection and commissioning of 7.97/13.8kV distribution lines, including pole staking, conductor stringing, and Right-of-Way (ROW) clearing.
• Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for major equipment like transformers, reclosers, and ESS containers to ensure compliance with Stakeholder/Power Company specifications.
• Ensure all on-site electrical works adhere to quality workmanship and strict safety standards.

1. Project Management & Stakeholder Coordination

• Manage project schedules, progress reports, and resource allocation to meet strict delivery and commissioning timelines.
• Coordinate with Stakeholder/Power Company representatives, local government units (for ROW), contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
• Participate in inspections, meetings, and presentations with clients and regulatory agencies.

1. Documentation & Compliance

• Prepare and review the Bill of Materials (BOM), cost estimates, and technical data sheets for string inverters, transformers, and battery systems.
• Ensure all as-built drawings are accurate and maintained for Stakeholder/Power Company records.
• Submit necessary documentation for post-qualification and implementation to ensure regulatory compliance.
