Overview
This position is responsible for managing one or more client engagements or components of larger-scale projects, while also contributing directly to the quality of work delivered. The role involves providing technical expertise, coaching, and guidance to junior team members, and ensuring efficient engagement management to meet revenue, realisation, and profitability targets.The Manager may also participate in daily team management, including coaching, feedback, and performance development.
Key Responsibilities- Delivering Australian tax and accounting advice to a wide range of clients, including small to medium-sized enterprises, privately owned businesses, trusts, partnerships, family groups, and foreign subsidiaries or listed entities.
- Enhancing technical expertise across services such as tax and accounting compliance and advisory for middle-market clients.
- Managing the full lifecycle of client engagements, including direct client contact, preparing for and attending presentations and meetings with senior stakeholders.
- Supporting the growth and development of less experienced team members, providing mentorship, and promoting continued professional learning.
- Solid technical knowledge and understanding of Australian taxation and accounting laws and regulations.
- 4 to 5 years of experience in a similar professional or corporate environment.
- CA or CA-equivalent qualification.
- Relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualifications.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Initiative and a drive to contribute innovative ideas in a dynamic service environment.

This leadership role is responsible for building and managing a specialized practice area or serving as a subject matter expert recognized within the industry. The Director oversees service delivery for a defined client portfolio and drives business development efforts to expand market presence and engagement opportunities.This position plays a key role in strategic decision-making within the practice, including resource management, talent development, and internal leadership. The role also promotes collaboration across teams and functions within the firm.
Key Responsibilities- Overseeing a defined service line or technical specialty area.
- Managing multiple, complex engagements simultaneously, often involving cross-functional team contributions.
- Delivering projects that meet quality and timeliness expectations, while effectively managing project scope and stakeholder collaboration.
- Handling commercial and contractual aspects of engagements, including fee proposals, budget management, and scope adjustments.
- Potentially leading a key operational area such as People Management, Financial Oversight, or Market Segment Development within the practice.
- Analyzing complex business scenarios and identifying strategic priorities.
- Engaging and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and regulatory bodies.
- Providing practical and forward-thinking solutions that enhance business value and competitive advantage.
- Strong technical expertise in Australian tax and accounting legislation.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar professional services or corporate advisory environment.
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification or equivalent.
- Relevant tertiary or postgraduate education.
- Proven ability to stay current with evolving tax laws and accounting standards.
- Proficiency in tax and accounting systems and tools.
- A client-focused mindset and the ability to understand complex business environments.
