Restaurant Sales Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for a results-driven and customer-focused Restaurant Sales Manager to increase restaurant revenue, develop corporate and group accounts, secure private functions, and build strong relationships with guests and business partners.

The Restaurant Sales Manager will be responsible for generating new business, promoting the restaurant’s dining and event offerings, preparing proposals and packages, handling client inquiries, and coordinating with the restaurant and kitchen teams to ensure successful execution of bookings.

The ideal candidate should have strong sales, communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills, with experience in restaurants, hospitality, catering, events, or food and beverage sales.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Business Development
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual restaurant revenue targets.
  • Generate new business from corporate clients, government offices, schools, hospitals, organizations, travel groups, event planners, and private customers.
  • Promote dine-in reservations, group dining, private functions, celebrations, meetings, food packages, takeout, and delivery services.
  • Identify potential corporate accounts and establish long-term business relationships.
  • Conduct sales calls, client meetings, presentations, site visits, and restaurant tours.
  • Build partnerships with nearby offices, hotels, tour operators, event planners, schools, and community organizations.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of leads, inquiries, proposals, tentative bookings, and confirmed reservations.
Corporate and Group Accounts
  • Develop and manage corporate dining accounts and preferred-client relationships.
  • Offer meal packages, group menus, corporate discounts, event packages, and approved promotional arrangements.
  • Coordinate recurring bookings, office meals, executive dining, team events, and company celebrations.
  • Maintain regular communication with corporate contacts and decision-makers.
  • Monitor account performance and identify opportunities for repeat bookings, upselling, and referrals.
  • Prepare customized proposals based on the client’s budget, guest count, and requirements.
Private Functions and Events
  • Generate bookings for birthdays, anniversaries, reunions, meetings, product launches, family celebrations, and other events.
  • Meet with clients to discuss menus, seating arrangements, schedules, decorations, equipment, and special requests.
  • Prepare event proposals, quotations, reservation agreements, and payment schedules.
  • Ensure that all function details are complete, accurate, and properly endorsed to operations.
  • Coordinate with the restaurant manager, kitchen, service team, cashier, maintenance, and other departments.
  • Attend major events when necessary to ensure proper execution and client satisfaction.
  • Handle last-minute client requests and operational changes professionally.
Client Relationship Management
  • Serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients and accounts.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries, quotation requests, reservation concerns, and client feedback.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regular guests, corporate clients, VIPs, and event organizers.
  • Follow up with clients after dining events to gather feedback and encourage repeat business.
  • Handle complaints and concerns professionally and coordinate appropriate solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of client preferences, booking history, and special requirements.
Proposals, Packages, and Negotiations
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, group menus, event packages, and commercial offers.
  • Ensure that pricing, inclusions, discounts, and payment terms are accurate and authorized.
  • Negotiate within approved pricing and discount limits.
  • Obtain management approval for special rates, complimentary items, and customized arrangements.
  • Ensure that clients clearly understand package inclusions, reservation policies, cancellation terms, and additional charges.
  • Avoid unauthorized promises or commitments that the restaurant cannot deliver.
Promotions and Marketing Support
  • Coordinate with the marketing team on restaurant promotions, seasonal offers, event packages, and campaigns.
  • Recommend promotions for holidays, weekends, special occasions, and low-demand periods.
  • Promote the restaurant through social media, networking events, partnerships, and direct outreach.
  • Maintain updated menus, brochures, presentations, social media, and sales materials.
  • Support food-tasting events, open houses, corporate presentations, and promotional activities.
  • Monitor competitor offers, dining trends, and customer preferences.
  • Recommend new packages and campaigns based on market demand.
Reservation and Booking Coordination
  • Monitor group reservations, private functions, and corporate bookings.
  • Ensure that event dates, times, guest counts, downpayments, and special arrangements are properly recorded.
  • Coordinate seating capacity and availability with the restaurant operations team.
  • Prevent overbooking, scheduling conflicts, or duplicate reservations.
  • Ensure that downpayments and required documents are completed before confirming bookings.
  • Prepare reservation summaries and function sheets for operations.
Revenue and Collection Monitoring
  • Monitor restaurant sales generated from corporate accounts, group bookings, functions, and promotions.
  • Track downpayments, final payments, discounts, complimentary items, and outstanding balances.
  • Coordinate with accounting and cashiers regarding billing, official receipts, credit arrangements, and collections.
  • Follow up overdue accounts professionally.
  • Ensure that all confirmed bookings meet approved pricing and profitability requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to upsell premium menus, beverages, desserts, add-ons, and event services.
  • Prepare revenue forecasts and sales performance reports.
Coordination with Restaurant Operations
  • Coordinate closely with the Restaurant Manager, Chef, kitchen team, service staff, cashier, and purchasing team.
  • Confirm menu availability, food preparation requirements, staffing, table setup, and event schedules.
  • Communicate allergies, dietary restrictions, religious requirements, and special requests clearly.
  • Ensure that client expectations are realistic and operationally achievable.
  • Conduct pre-event briefings for major functions.
  • Provide accurate client endorsements and complete event information to the operations team.
  • Assist in resolving service issues during events or group bookings.
Sales Reporting and Performance Monitoring
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
  • Track inquiries, client meetings, proposals, reservations, confirmed bookings, revenue, and collections.
  • Monitor lead conversion rates, average booking value, repeat-business rate, and account performance.
  • Maintain an updated client database and sales pipeline.
  • Analyze cancelled bookings, lost sales, and inactive accounts.
  • Present sales results, forecasts, opportunities, and challenges to management.
  • Recommend actions to improve sales performance.
Customer Service and Brand Representation
  • Represent the restaurant professionally in all client meetings and communications.
  • Ensure that clients receive prompt, courteous, and accurate service.
  • Protect the restaurant’s reputation by setting realistic expectations and ensuring proper delivery.
  • Promote the restaurant’s menu, service quality, atmosphere, and unique selling points.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information, pricing, and company records.
  • Handle VIP clients and sensitive concerns with discretion and professionalism.
Compliance and Documentation
  • Ensure that all proposals, booking agreements, payment records, and client communications are properly documented.
  • Follow company policies on pricing, discounts, credit arrangements, commissions, and promotions.
  • Ensure that sales materials and promotional claims are accurate.
  • Protect confidential company, client, and pricing information.
  • Immediately report payment discrepancies, unauthorized discounts, client disputes, or unethical practices.
  • Maintain organized physical and electronic records of accounts and bookings.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least three years of experience in restaurant sales, hotel sales, catering sales, events, account management, or business development.
  • Experience handling corporate accounts, private functions, group dining, or food and beverage sales is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to achieve sales and revenue targets.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-management abilities.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and time-management skills.
  • Familiarity with restaurant operations, menus, reservations, event packages, and food and beverage service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, spreadsheets, CRM systems, and online communication tools.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English and Filipino.
  • Willing to attend client meetings, restaurant events, and promotional activities.
  • Willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when required by bookings and events.
