Auto Cad Operator

Job Summary:

The AutoCAD Operator is responsible for creating accurate and detailed technical drawings, plans, and layouts using AutoCAD and other drafting software. The position supports engineers, architects, and project managers by preparing design documentation, revising drawings as needed, and ensuring that all plans comply with company and client standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and Draft Drawings

• Create 2D and/or 3D drawings, layouts, and plans based on sketches, specifications, and instructions.
• Prepare technical drawings for construction, fabrication, or installation purposes.
• Revise drawings as required to reflect design changes or client requests.

1. Coordinate with Project Team

• Work closely with engineers, architects, and supervisors to gather design details and technical data.
• Ensure all drawings are aligned with project requirements and company standards.
• Maintain open communication regarding design updates, changes, and deadlines.

1. Documentation and Record-Keeping

• Maintain an organized drawing database, ensuring all revisions are properly documented.
• Keep a record of drawing numbers, revisions, and file versions.
• Prepare and submit drawing sets for approval or construction.

1. Quality Control

• Review and check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.
• Identify and report inconsistencies or potential design issues.
• Ensure drawings are ready and accurate before release.

1. Support and Assistance

• Assist in preparing shop drawings, as-built drawings, and other design documentation.
• Provide drafting support for tender submissions, presentations, and reports.
• Print, plot, and deliver drawings or layouts as needed.

1. Software and Equipment Management

• Maintain and update AutoCAD software and related tools.
• Ensure proper file backup and storage procedures are followed.
• Stay updated with new AutoCAD features and drafting techniques.

1. Other Tasks

• Perform other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of Drafting Technology, Architecture, Engineering, or related course.
• Proficient in AutoCAD (2D/3D); knowledge in SketchUp, Revit, or Civil 3D is an advantage.
• At least 1-2 years of experience in drafting or design (entry-level acceptable for trainees).
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Work Conditions:

• Office-based, with occasional site visits as required.
• Regular working hours; overtime may be required depending on project deadlines.
