Job Description
The Corporate Accountant ensures statutory financial statements for assigned Höegh LNG entities are completed in accordance with IFRS, regulations, and internal procedures. The role maintains relationships with auditors and public filing entities, ensures compliance with internal controls, and supports consolidated reporting for the Group.
Main Tasks
Financial Close- Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual closes for consolidated and statutory reporting. Handle vendor/customer invoices, bank transactions, accruals, depreciation, amortization, reclassifications, currency revaluations, IFRS15 and IFRS9 entries. Prepare related-party invoices, intercompany interest, payments, reconciliations, and ensure proper classification in IFS. Work with Group Accounting on budgets, forecasts, and reporting routines.
- Prepare quarterly and annual financials in line with IFRS. Provide deviation analysis versus budget, cash-flow reporting, and rolling forecasts.
- Approve payments, perform reconciliations, manage loan facilities, ensure compliance with cash management procedures, report covenants, and prepare long-term forecasts.
- Execute internal controls per GSM guidelines, support external auditors, ensure reporting accuracy, and maintain compliance with key controls.
- File tax returns, assist with VAT reporting, and ensure adherence to local requirements.
- Monitor project accounting data, POs, invoices, and cost allocations. Ensure correct routing and reporting of project costs. Track manhours, travel, and consultant expenses, liaise with Accounting for recharges, and maintain project codes.
- Prepare internal/external project reports using IFS, Excel, and Power BI. Align CAPEX/EXP categories with Accounting, support reporting standardization, and manage reimbursement packages.
- Follow monthly/quarterly close checklists, update forecasts, and ensure timely project sign-offs.
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or a related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is an advantage but not required
- Minimum of 4–5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Experience with handling monthly, quarterly or annual closing processes
- Understanding and experience with IFRS/local GAAP
- Prior auditing experience with international clients is beneficial but not required
- Knowledge of internal controls
- Knowledge of financial reporting requirements
- Solid computer skills including working with general ledger systems
- Advanced excel expertise and interest in developing ad-hoc and management reporting tools to meet Management requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
