Purchasing Staff is responsible for the procurement of material and service requirements. They find suppliers who can meet the requirements, negotiates prices, arrange for the purchase, and oversees the whole procurement process.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reports to the Purchasing Manager.
- Prepares and processes purchase orders
- Adheres to all company purchasing policies and procedures
- Collaborates with end-users to thoroughly understand project requirements and material specifications.
- Conducts comprehensive research, including market analysis and supplier evaluation, to identify suitable vendors capable of providing the best value
- Conducts ocular inspection and plant visit to prospective supplier and submits recommendation to Purchasing Manager for approval.
- Sources/Canvasses materials and service requirements through all possible means at the least possible cost for the required quality from reliable suppliers.
- Ensures the acquisition of materials and services from the right supplier, of the right quality, in the right quantity, at the right price, at the right time, at the right place, with the right service-support.
- Negotiates price, quality, payment terms, warranty and delivery for each request.
- Initiates the appropriate agreement with the suppliers such as but not limited to consignment, blanket or contract purchases, payment terms etc.
- Compares and evaluates offers from suppliers.
- Maintains good working relationships with existing and potential suppliers
Qualifications/Requirements
Graduate of any 4 year Business courseShould have at least one (1) to two (2) years of professional purchasing. Preferably with prior experience in the construction industry.
Has good negotiation skills
