Job Description
As a Media Relations Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting the Media Relations team through daily monitoring of news pick-ups, competitor news, and industry updates for various brands. Your responsibilities will include tracking and analyzing media coverage across print, digital, TV, and radio platforms, maintaining and updating the media database, and assisting in the preparation of publicity coverage reports.You will also be involved in on-ground support for PR activities and events, helping with the dispatch and bundling of PR kits, and other administrative tasks as assigned by the Media Relations Manager.
Responsibilities- Helps in daily monitoring of news pick-ups per press release, competitor news, and industry news for brands handled (manual monitoring or utilizing media monitoring tools)
- Helps in researching and monitoring print, TV, radio, and digital media coverages such as online portals, blog pick ups, and media SNS/social media pick-ups relating to the press release and other brand competitor releases (brand competitors are set by client servicing teams)
- Helps in generating and populating publicity coverage reports – daily, weekly, and monthly – which includes, but is not limited to the ff:
- Publication
- Link to monitored news pick-up and competitor news
- Date monitored
- Strong support in updating media database with personal information of key media partners
- On-ground assistance in other PR activities (i.e. media events), as needed
- Other tasks assigned by the Sr. Media Relations Manager, such as but not limited to:
- Dispatch of PR kits
- Bundling of PR kits
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or any similar field
- Excellent communication skills
- both written and verbal
- and good command of the English language
- Must have sharp attention to details and great organizational skills; ability to multitask and prioritize
- Must be a go-getter; must have a can-do attitude and the willingness to be trained
