Job Summary

The Accounting Supervisor serves as a critical link between the accounting team and management, contributing to timely and reliable financial reporting.

1. Team Leadership and Supervision

• Supervise and mentor a team of accountants and accounting staff, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth.
• Manage team workloads and assignments to ensure deadlines are met and tasks are completed accurately.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Assist in the recruitment and training of new accounting personnel.

1. Financial Reporting and Analysis

• Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate completion.
• Review and approve journal entries, general ledger accounts, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement, in accordance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
• Assist in the preparation of management reports and variance analyses to provide insights into financial performance.

1. Accounting Operations

• Ensure the proper and efficient handling of core accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), and payroll processing.
• Monitor compliance with internal controls and accounting procedures to safeguard company assets.
• Oversee the accurate reconciliation of intercompany transactions and other complex accounts.
• Manage fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.

1. Compliance and Auditing

• Ensure full compliance with local regulations, including those from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and other government agencies.
• Oversee the timely and accurate filing of all required tax returns (e.g., VAT, withholding tax, income tax).
• Coordinate with external and internal auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations to support audit requirements.

1. Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
• Lead the implementation of new accounting software or system upgrades.
• Develop and update accounting policies and procedures to reflect changes in business operations or regulations.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or a related field.
• A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is highly preferred but not always required.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior accountant role.
• Proven knowledge of sound accounting principles.
• In-depth understanding of Philippine tax laws and BIR regulations.
• Expertise in financial reporting, General Ledger (GL) reconciliation, and month-end close processes.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Xero, QuickBooks) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
