Job Summary

We are seeking a highly competent Energy Lawyer to provide legal expertise in the development, implementation, and compliance of wind energy projects. The role will focus on regulatory compliance, contract management, and legal advisory within the Philippine energy sector, ensuring that projects meet all legal and commercial requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice and support across all phases of wind energy project development.
  • Ensure compliance with Philippine laws, regulations, and policies governing renewable energy projects.
  • Handle legal aspects of project development, including permitting, licensing, and regulatory approvals.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various project-related agreements, including:
  • Joint venture agreements
  • Power supply agreements
  • Land use contracts
  • Permits and licenses
  • Support commercial structuring and legal arrangements of wind energy projects.
  • Conduct legal due diligence and identify potential risks, providing mitigation strategies.
  • Liaise with government agencies such as DOE, ERC, and DENR for regulatory compliance and approvals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a recognized institution.
  • Must be a member of the Philippine Bar in good standing.
Relevant Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional legal experience in energy, infrastructure, or renewable energy projects.
  • Proven expertise in:
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Project development
  • Commercial arrangements within the Philippine energy sector
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and policies governing renewable energy development, including:
  • Renewable Energy Act of 2008 (RA 9513)
  • Electric Power Industry Reform Act (EPIRA) (RA 9136)
  • Relevant DOE, ERC, and DENR guidelines
  • Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts related to infrastructure or energy projects.
Required Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine energy laws and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to interpret legal requirements and translate them into practical project guidance.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience specifically in wind energy projects.
  • Exposure to large-scale infrastructure or renewable energy developments.
