Project Officer for Disaster Risk Management

You will serve as a key liaison between the foundation, local government units, and communities to ensure effective disaster risk reduction initiatives. This position plays a vital role in our mission to build safer, more resilient communities equipped to withstand and recover from disasters.

1. Develop and implement comprehensive disaster risk management programs and projects aligned with community needs and foundation objectives
2. Coordinate with local government units, community organisations, and stakeholders to plan and execute disaster preparedness activities and training programs
3. Facilitate community awareness and education campaigns on disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, and emergency preparedness
4. Manage project budgets, resources, and procurement requirements in accordance with foundation policies and procedures
5. Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, local officials, and partner organisations
6. Support the development of disaster risk management plans and protocols at community and municipal levels
7. Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives and best practice documentation within the disaster risk management sector

1. Bachelor's degree in Development Studies, Environmental Management, Social Work, Public Administration, or related field
2. 3-4 years of experience in community development, disaster risk management, or related programs
3. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work within budgetary constraints
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders including community members, local officials, and partner organisations
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, with strong problem-solving capabilities
6. Flexibility and willingness to work in field settings and adapt to varying community contexts
