Program Manager - NGO - Legazpi
The Program Manager will be a key member of our leadership team and will work directly with the Country Director.
This is a high-level position with potential for growth into senior leadership roles, and we are considering succession planning for future leadership. The ideal candidate will be highly progressive, with a broad range of experience working with international organizations, and will bring a variety of expertise across different sectors within the NGO landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Management & Strategy:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of key programs, particularly in the areas of disaster risk management and child-focused education, protection, and rights.
- Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for program teams, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and adherence to international standards.
- Ensure all programs are monitored, evaluated, and adjusted to meet evolving community needs, ensuring effectiveness and sustainability.
Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex multi-sector projects, ensuring all deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Develop detailed project plans, manage resources, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for all initiatives.
- Identify and manage risks, implement mitigation strategies, and manage challenges as they arise.
Team Leadership & People Development:
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of program staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Lead capacity-building initiatives to ensure the team has the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-impact programs.
- Guide staff development through coaching, performance evaluations, and training opportunities.
Grants Acquisition & Resource Mobilization:
- Lead efforts to identify, acquire, and manage funding for programs through grants, partnerships, and donor relations.
- Write compelling proposals, manage donor expectations, and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
- Cultivate relationships with local and international donors, stakeholders, and partners.
Advocacy & External Relations:
- Represent the organization at relevant external forums, including with local governments, donors, and sector partners.
- Advocate for the rights of children and the importance of disaster risk preparedness and response.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with international partners, ensuring collaborative approaches to program delivery and impact.
Organizational Leadership & Succession Planning:
- Act as a strategic advisor to the Country Director and senior leadership team on all aspects of program delivery and organizational growth.
- Play an active role in succession planning, identifying future leaders within the organization and supporting their development.
- Contribute to the overall vision and strategic direction of the organization, ensuring the alignment of all programs with the mission and long-term goals.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in program management, project design, and implementation within the NGO sector, with significant expertise in child protection, children's rights, education, and disaster risk management.
- Proven track record in leading complex, multi-sector programs and teams, with an emphasis on results and impact.
- Expertise in grants acquisition, resource mobilization, and managing donor relations.
- Strong experience in people development, including team leadership, coaching, and capacity building.
- Experience working in international or cross-cultural environments, particularly in developing countries or emerging markets.
- Deep understanding of child-focused programming, disaster risk reduction, and humanitarian response.
- Highly progressive, adaptable, and forward-thinking with a deep commitment to addressing contemporary challenges in the NGO sector.
- Proven experience in working with international partners and stakeholders in a collaborative manner.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English. Additional language skills are a plus.
- Ability and willingness to be based onsite in Bicol, Philippines.
