Technical Support Analyst II - Manila

With locations in Tokyo, Bangkok, Manila and Singapore already, we are very excited about existing and future expected business growth across Asia.
VITEC’s Technical Support Teams provide global post-sales support to VITEC’s network of partners (resellers and distributors). Together with the broader support team including Solutions Consultants based around the world, the team also assists the global sales team with pre-sales technical enquiries.
What you’ll do:
VITEC has had a team operating in APAC since 2015 and this role will provide Post Sales support to our growing Asia customer base. Based in Manila and reporting to the Technical Manager in Sydney, Australia, the position of Technical Support Analyst II will involve the following on a day-to-day basis:
- Providing email/telephone support to VITEC’s partners between 9am to 5pm Monday – Friday Manila business hours
- Assisting VITEC’s sales team and solutions consultants with pre-sales technical enquiries
- Troubleshooting problems/answering questions related to:
- VITEC’s products
- Digital video and broadcast TV
- IP networking and IP multicast
- Integration with 3rd party products
- Assisting partners and application developers to integrate with VITEC products using VITEC’s published APIs.
- Writing knowledgebase articles to share information both internally and externally
The role will also involve the following on an occasional basis:
- Travel (mainly in Asia) to assist with equipment installation and/or troubleshooting.
- Out of hours working. This is for periodic global meetings, training and may include an on-call roster.
About You:
The successful candidate will be a technical professional with good experience of post-sales support, pre-sales support and/or field engineer roles and are looking to advance their career by gaining further experience.
The ideal candidate will meet many of the below criteria:
- Qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Networking or related field
- Good general skills in computing and technology
- Some knowledge of IP network-based products and IP networking solutions
- Some knowledge of digital audio/video technologies
- Skills in software, shell scripting and/or web development
- General Linux knowledge with a desire to learn more
In addition, the ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills in both Filipino and English languages
- Good troubleshooting skills
- The ability to build customer relationships
- The desire and commitment to provide great customer service
- The ability to work independently while also working as part of a wider regional team
- An interest in IP video streaming and digital signage solutions
Desirable extra skills:
- Front-end programming skills – JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JSON
- Back-end programming skills – PHP, Python, Node
- Network security knowledge
