Project Estimator (Civil Engineering)

Job Summary:

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Project Estimator to join our team. This role is crucial in helping us determine the time, materials, and labor needed to complete projects. The Project Estimator will collaborate with project engineers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to develop accurate cost estimates that support budgeting, bidding, and project planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
• Consult with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Prepare detailed breakdowns of project costs including materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor fees, and other related expenses.
• Assist in preparing and submitting bids and proposals.
• Monitor cost changes, track estimates against actual project costs, and adjust future estimates accordingly.
• Maintain an organized database of cost information, supplier pricing, and historical project data.
• Collaborate with procurement and finance teams to ensure budget alignment and cost control.
• Support the project team with financial projections and ongoing cost reporting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Project Estimator or similar role.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, CostX) and MS Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.

Preferred:

• Experience in commercial construction, manufacturing, infrastructure.
• Knowledge of local building codes, materials, and labor regulations.
