- Performs the duties of a WSO Officer and / or assists the WSO Officer as needed.
- Leads and applies chemicals like aluminum sulfate, poly aluminum chloride, aluminum chlorohydrate, liquid chlorine, polymer, caustic soda, sodium / calcium hypochlorite, potassium permanganate, etc.
- Assists in the conduct of backwashing, enhanced flux maintenance (EFM) and clean-in-place (CIP)
- Implements Integrated Management System’s programs, activities, procedures and policies and reports status and concerns to WSO Officer on shift.
- Implements Energy Management System’s programs, activities, procedures and policies and reports status and concerns to Energy Site Manager.
- Implements Safety Protocols and reports status and concerns to Safety Officer.
- Monitors hourly treatment chemical consumption to ensure chemical feed rates correspond to the recommended dosage and flow of raw water less the leaks and losses for accurate treatment and efficient results of water quality.
- Inspects, receives and records treatment chemical deliveries together with the supplier representative during the shift and update stock balance.
- Ensures accurate recording of stock of all chemicals daily to guarantee consistency with dosing application and recording of consumed and received chemical quantity in coordination with Treatment Chemical Officer.
- Maintains and repairs minor defect of equipment/instruments and reports major defects for immediate repair.
- Monitors equipment status and report all unusual events, defects to Shift officer.
- Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of workstation, dosing equipment and appurtenances including tools used such as pliers, wrenches, vise grip, chlorine special tools, breathing apparatus, etc. for workers and visitor safely.
- Reports and follow-up on some improvements like overseeing the accuracy of chemical handling and application techniques, use and care of self-contained breathing apparatus and equipment and facilities performance monitoring.
- Monitors/measures the volume of raw water and treated water by means of ultrasonic flowmeters and reports any major damage of equipment/facilities to WP Officer on duty for immediate action to minimize downtime.
- Authorized to function as WSO Officer in the absence of the said personnel.
- Authorized to supervise all functions performed by WP Operator.
- Authorized to evaluate performance of service providers.
- Does other related tasks as may be assigned by WSO Officer on shift
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL LICENSES
Graduate of any engineering course preferably in mechanical, chemical, electrical, or instrumentation Must be a
licensed Engineer
Preferably with one to three years of related work experience
