Financial Controller (CPA and insurance industry background required)
A fast-growing start-up company in the Philippine general insurance sector is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead financial control, reporting, and finance transformation initiatives.
This is a key leadership role for a finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, high-growth environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening financial governance, improving reporting processes, and supporting the business through system enhancements, process redesign, and organizational change.
The role is ideal for someone who can bring structure, discipline, and strong financial controls to a start-up environment while also being hands-on, adaptable, and comfortable working across functions.
Key Responsibilities
The Financial Controller will oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reports. The role will ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies while maintaining robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
The position will manage month-end and year-end closing processes, monitor financial performance, and identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
A major part of the role will involve leading finance-related transformation initiatives, including system implementations, process improvements, continuous improvement projects, and organizational restructuring. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to design practical solutions that support business growth and operational efficiency.
The Financial Controller will also act as a key advisor to senior leadership on financial and change management matters, while mentoring finance team members and promoting a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
Qualifications- Must be a CPA
- ACCA, CMA, master’s degree, or similar professional qualification preferred
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in financial control and accounting, and at least 5 years of leadership experience
- Experience in the general insurance industry is a MUST
- Proven experience leading change initiatives, system implementations, or process redesign projects
- Strong knowledge of financial systems, including ERP systems
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to work onsite in Alabang, Muntinlupa City
