Mechanical Engineer - Healthcare Account

Key Responsibilities:

• System Design & Engineering
• Design and oversee installation of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems tailored to hospital needs.
• Ensure systems meet healthcare codes, infection control standards, and energy efficiency goals.
• Maintenance & Operations
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with heating, cooling, ventilation, and medical gas systems.
• Project Management
• Lead mechanical engineering aspects of renovation and expansion projects.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and hospital departments to ensure timely and compliant execution.
• Compliance & Safety
• Ensure all mechanical systems comply with local building codes, DOH regulations, and hospital safety protocols.
• Maintain documentation for inspections, permits, and certifications.
• Collaboration & Support
• Work closely with facilities, biomedical, and clinical teams to align mechanical systems with operational needs.
• Provide technical guidance during emergencies or system failures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s or healthcare specialization is a plus.
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in healthcare or institutional settings.
• Strong knowledge of hospital HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and building management systems (BMS).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.

Preferred Certifications:

• Licensed Mechanical Engineer
• OSHA or equivalent safety certification
