Job Title: Regulatory Compliance Specialist (Project-Based)

Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly structured and results-driven Regulatory Compliance Specialist on a project basis. You will spearhead the processing, renewal, and cleanup of our corporate regulatory requirements in the Philippines. The ideal candidate has deep operational experience dealing directly with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), local government units (LGU) for Business Permits, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).

Key Responsibilities
  1. BIR Process Management
  • Handle tax compliance registrations, updates (BIR Form 1905), and closure processes if applicable.
  • Manage the application, printing, and inventory of Authority to Print (ATP) official receipts/invoices.
  • Resolve open cases (listahan ng open cases), penalties, and assessment issues directly with the Revenue District Office (RDO). [1, 2, 3, 4]
  1. Business Permits & Local Licensing
  • Lead the end-to-end processing of annual Business/Mayor's Permit renewals or new location registrations.
  • Coordinate with LGUs to secure Barangay Clearances, Fire Safety Inspection Certificates (FSIC), Sanitary Permits, and Zoning Clearances.
  • Evaluate and compute local business tax assessments to ensure fair billing by the city/municipality.
  1. SEC Regulatory Compliance
  • Prepare and file mandatory annual reports, including General Information Sheets (GIS) and Annual Financial Statements (AFS).
  • Monitor corporate compliance tracking to prevent SEC penalties and handle petition filings for any lifted suspensions or amendments.
  • Assist in drafting board resolutions and secretary certificates relevant to the project scope. [1, 2]
  1. PEZA Compliance & Incentives
  • Maintain compliance with PEZA rules, regulations, and reportorial requirements (e.g., economic zone monthly/annual reports).
  • Manage documentation for tax-free importations, equipment movement permits, and local sales clearances.
  • Ensure the company maintains its data and operational alignment to safeguard PEZA fiscal incentives. [1]
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of solid experience in corporate compliance, legal assistance, or corporate secretarial work in the Philippines.
  • Agency Familiarity: Proven track record of actual field experience dealing with BIR RDOs, SEC, PEZA, and various Tier-1/Tier-2 LGUs.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of the National Internal Revenue Code, SEC guidelines, and PEZA Revised Rules and Regulations.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to negotiate and clarify complex requirements with government officers.
  • Urgency: Ability to work independently under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
