Computer Technician

Key Responsibilities:

Hardware Installation and Maintenance:

• Assemble and install computer hardware components such as CPUs, RAM modules, hard drives, and peripheral devices (printers, scanners, etc.).
• Configure hardware settings and ensure compatibility with software applications.

Software Installation and Configuration:

• Install and configure operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and software applications.
• Ensure software updates and patches are applied promptly to maintain system security and functionality.

Network Setup and Maintenance:

• Set up and maintain local area networks (LANs), including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and ensure network security measures are in place.

Technical Support:

• Provide technical assistance and support to end-users regarding computer systems, software, and hardware issues.
• Diagnose and resolve technical problems through troubleshooting steps, either remotely or on-site

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Certification such as NC II in Computer System Servicing or equivalent is desirable.
• Proven experience as a Computer Technician or in a similar role, with hands-on experience in hardware and software installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Strong technical skills in computer hardware components, operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and software applications.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a systematic approach to diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to provide clear technical guidance and support to end-users.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, with a customer-oriented approach to service delivery.
