Mechanical Engineer/Safety Officer / Safety Officer- Oversee the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems, including HVAC (chillers, air handling units, exhaust fans, split-type ACs,), compressed air systems, elevators and pumps.
- Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all mechanical utilities and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations, permits, and certifications (e.g., DOLE, PEZA) applicable to facility.
- Prepare reports, maintenance records, and documentation required for audits, inspections, and certifications.
- Implement and monitor OSH policies, programs, and standards across all facilities operations
- Ensure compliance with DOLE, BFP, DENR, and other regulatory agencies
- Maintain and update the company’s Safety and Health Program, Safety Manual, and Risk Assessments
- Prepare and submit mandatory reports to DOLE, including WSH reports, accident notifications, and safety audits.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of all plant facilities, machinery, electrical systems, and utilities.
- Identify unsafe acts and conditions, and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Coordinate with engineers, technicians, and contractors to ensure safe execution of construction, maintenance, and shutdown activities
- Lead or assist in incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Prepare incident/accident reports and recommend preventive measures
- Maintain proper documentation of all accidents, near misses, and safety-related incidents.
- Conduct follow-ups to ensure completion of corrective actions.
- Facilitate safety orientations and toolbox meetings for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Organize safety drills (fire, earthquake, chemical spill, etc.) and emergency preparedness activities
- Promote a strong safety culture through campaigns, bulletin boards, and internal communications.
- Support and participate in ISO 45001 audits, RBA (Responsible Business Alliance) assessments, and other compliance audits.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical EngineeringLicensed Mechanical Engineer
Completion of 40-hour DOLE-accredited OSH training in Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH)
Completion of Loss Control Management (LCM) Training is an advantage.
At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in facilities engineering
Familiar with safety and environmental regulations (e.g., DOLE, DENR, OSH standards)
Experience in operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC, compressed air, and other mechanical utility systems.Knowledge of government permits and compliance (DOLE, PEZA, DENR) related to the facility.
Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and maintenance management systems
Good analytical and troubleshooting skills
Strong communication and organizational skills
