FINANCE / ACCOUNTS MANAGER
Reporting Directly to: General Manager, LCO and/or Director(s)Department: Finance and Accounting Department
Reporting to this position: Senior Accounting Officer Accounting Assistants
Salary Range: 35k – 45k
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages and oversees the daily activities of finance and accounting department, including:
- Accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing;
- Accounts payable / receivables management;
- Cashflow management
- General ledger controls and bank reconciliations;
- Monitoring collections as well as operating expenses and overheads;
- Payroll;
- Procurement matters;
- Budgetary controls;
- Revenue and expenditure variance analysis;
- Capital assts and inventory control and reconciliation;
- Checks and other payment preparation and daily danking activities;
- Monitors and analyses accounting data to produce financial reports and statements, including the preparation of cashflow forecast and profit and loss projections for the Management and stakeholders as required.
- Ensures that all accounting processes align with prevailing accounting standards and financial regulations..
- Coordinates with external auditors and oversees interim and annual audits..
- Work closely with tax consultants and legal counsel on tax concerns of the Company and its business operations and also on all compliance of the tax related requirements to effect transfers of real property titles and other conveyancing matters related to the Company’s sale of houses and lots and long-term leases of lots..
- Hires, trains and motivates accounting staff members while supervising and delegating department tasks.
- Evaluates, develops and improves departmental controls, systems and procedures to increase accuracy and efficiency.
- Assists / advises other departments as they develop strategies, objectives and plans which would have a financial impact on the business of the Company.
- Undertakes accurate and timely filingsand submissions in compliance with all regulator requirements by the tax authority (BIR), the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) and Office of the City/Municipal/Provincial Assessors.
- Assists the Corporate Secretary in the preparation of therquired Board of Directors and Shareholders’ resolutions and help promote corporate governance and regulatory compliance by ensuring that the Board of Directors have the information and tools that they need to fulfil their obligations to the shareholders.
- Introduce / maintain / monitor a coding system on all departments’ expenses, payments, debursements and/or expenditures for the purpose of tracking, aging and managing liabilities and accountabilities of each departments or employees and the Company as a whole.
Qualifications, Educational Background, and Personal Attributes:
Educational Background- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Financial Management, Finance, or a related field.
- Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, or a related discipline is an advantage.
- Relevant training and certifications in taxation, financial management, auditing, treasury management, or accounting systems are preferred.
- At least five (5) years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with a minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, treasury, and compliance management.
- Experience in the real estate, construction, property development, or related industries is an advantage.
- Proven experience in handling external audits, government compliance, and regulatory reporting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and taxation laws.
- Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, cash flow management, and internal controls.
- Familiarity with BIR, SEC, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and other government regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills.
