Reports To: Terminal Supervisor / Terminal Manager

Position Summary

The Terminal Operations Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of oil terminal operations, including product receipt, storage, loading, dispatch, and inventory control. The role ensures compliance with HSSE standards, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements while maintaining product quality and inventory accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Terminal & Marine Operations
  • Perform jetty operations including vessel inspection using ISGOTT Ship-Shore Safety Checklists
  • Conduct product sampling, tank gauging, volume computation, and monitoring of vessel discharge activities
  • Inspect hoses, pipelines, valves, and connections to prevent leaks and product loss
  • Operate oily water recovery systems after tanker or barge activities when required
Tank Farm & Gantry Operations
  • Conduct daily safety and housekeeping inspections of tank farms, gantries, pumps, compressors, and valves
  • Prepare shore tanks for vessel receipt, lorry loading, and product transfers
  • Perform additive injection, marker dosing, and colorant blending in accordance with product specifications
  • Inspect inbound and outbound tank trucks for safety, ATL compliance, seals, and documentation accuracy
Dispatch, Documentation & Inventory Control
  • Operate automated loading systems (e.g., ACULOAD) for lorry loading
  • Generate and verify operational documents such as Invoices, Delivery Receipts (DRs), Certificates of Quality (COQs), and gate passes
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using Inventory Management Systems
  • Reconcile loaded volumes against delivery summaries and daily inventory reports
HSSE & Emergency Response
  • Strictly comply with company HSSE policies, terminal procedures, and environmental regulations
  • Participate in safety meetings, drills, and incident investigations
  • Immediately report operational anomalies, near-misses, and incidents
  • Serve as a member of the Terminal Emergency Response Team
Qualifications & Technical Requirements
  • Graduate of a 4-year Engineering course (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related) preferred, or relevant technical/vocational course
  • At least 1–3 years experience in oil terminal, depot, refinery, or fuel logistics operations preferred
  • Knowledge of petroleum product handling, storage, and quality control
  • Familiarity with ISGOTT standards, HSSE requirements, tank gauging, and loading systems
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
