Delivery helper

Job Summary

The Delivery Helper is responsible for assisting the Delivery Driver in the manual loading, unloading, and secure transport of goods. This role ensures that all customer orders are delivered accurately, on time, and in good condition while adhering to strict safety and operational standards.

1. Logistics & Handling

• Assist in the manual loading and unloading of products from the warehouse to the delivery vehicle and from the vehicle to the customer’s premises.
• Ensure products are organized within the vehicle to prevent damage during transit and to facilitate efficient unloading.
• Conduct physical counts of inventory during loading to ensure alignment with the manifest.

1. Documentation & Accuracy

• Verify invoices against the physical goods being delivered to ensure zero discrepancies.
• Obtain necessary signatures and stamps from customers upon successful delivery.
• Collect and secure payments (cash or checks) as required, ensuring accurate remittance to the office.

1. Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to all Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe lifting techniques.
• Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle.
• Assist the driver in navigating, parking, and performing basic vehicle maintenance checks.

1. Customer Service

• Represent the company professionally when interacting with retailers, wholesalers, and store managers.
• Report any customer complaints, product damages, or delivery delays to the supervisor immediately.

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 lbs or more) repeatedly throughout a shift and work in various weather conditions.
• Skills: Basic literacy and numeracy for checking invoices and handling cash.
• Attributes: Strong sense of punctuality, integrity, and the ability to work effectively as part of a two-person team.
• Experience: Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, or FMCG delivery is an advantage but not required.
