Automation Architect - Manila
Position Overview:
Octal Philippines Inc. is seeking an experienced Automation Architect to lead our automation strategy, improving efficiency and accelerating delivery across our software development lifecycle. In this pivotal role, you will design, implement, and optimize automation frameworks that ensure consistent quality and performance in our applications and systems.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, QA, and operations, to drive the adoption of best practices in test automation and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD). Your expertise will not only enhance our testing processes but also facilitate a smoother transition towards a DevOps culture.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable automation frameworks for various applications, enhancing testing efficiency and accuracy.
- Evaluate and recommend automation tools and technologies that align with company goals.
- Work closely with development teams to integrate automated testing into the CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts for functional, regression, and performance testing.
- Provide guidance and training to team members on test automation best practices.
- Regularly review automation results and reports, identifying areas for improvement within the automation framework.
- Establish and enforce coding and testing standards to ensure that automation scripts are maintainable and reusable.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand their needs for improving automation processes.
- Continuously research and implement the latest automation trends and best practices to keep the organization at the forefront of technology.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, quality assurance, or automation roles.
- Proven experience designing and implementing automation frameworks and solutions.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, TestNG, and JUnit.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and practices.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and their testing solutions is an advantage.
Technical Skills:
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies and software development lifecycles.
- Ability to develop and execute test plans, manage test data, and analyze test results.
- Experience in performance and load testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner is a plus.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Soft Skills:
