We're Hiring: Project Engineer

Power Solutions | Electrical & Energy | Renewable & EV Charging Infrastructure

About the Role

Are you an Electrical Engineer who wants to work on projects that actually matter — solar installations powering businesses, EV charging stations shaping the future of transportation, and energy systems built to last? VTSA Power Solutions is growing fast, and we need a Project Engineer who can take a project from kickoff to turnover without dropping the ball.

You will be on the ground, in the field, working with real systems, real clients, and real deadlines. This is hands-on engineering at its most impactful.

Your Day-to-Day

On the Drawing Board
  • Study project requirements, interpret electrical drawings, and develop execution plans before a cable is pulled.
  • Size systems correctly — from solar array configurations and inverter selection to EV charger load calculations and panel capacity checks.
  • Prepare method statements, work schedules, and material lists that keep installations on track from day one.
  • Submit shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documents for client and regulatory approval.
  • Make sure every design decision follows PEC, DOE, and ERC standards — no shortcuts, no compromises.
On the Ground
  • Supervise installation works across solar PV, battery storage, and EV charging sites — making sure crews execute exactly to spec.
  • Be the technical authority on site — troubleshooting issues, making sound engineering calls, and keeping the project moving forward.
  • Inspect workmanship, check safety compliance, and flag anything that does not meet quality standards before it becomes a bigger problem.
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment staging, and subcontractor schedules to eliminate downtime on site.
  • Uphold strict safety protocols across all project sites — zero tolerance for shortcuts that put people at risk.
On the Energy Side
  • Handle solar PV projects from panel layout and string design through inverter commissioning and net metering coordination with MERALCO or local DUs.
  • Oversee BESS installations — battery banks, charge controllers, monitoring systems, and grid protection devices.
  • Deploy EV charging infrastructure — Level 2 AC and DC fast chargers — across commercial developments, parking facilities, and industrial sites.
  • Guide clients through EVIDA compliance requirements and DOE EV charging station standards.
  • Verify system performance through thorough testing before signing off on any installation.
At the Finish Line
  • Lead commissioning and system testing — making sure everything works exactly as designed before handing over to the client.
  • Prepare complete turnover packages — as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranty documents, and acceptance certificates.
  • Coordinate final inspections with building officials, utility companies, and regulatory bodies.
  • Orient clients on system operations, safety procedures, and routine maintenance requirements.
  • Close out all project documentation cleanly so nothing is left hanging after handover.
Behind the Scenes
  • Track project costs, material consumption, and milestone progress against the approved budget and schedule.
  • Submit clear, accurate progress reports to the Project Manager and senior management on a regular basis.
  • Flag risks early — cost overruns, schedule slippages, technical issues — before they escalate.
  • Keep complete and organized project records for every assignment handled.

What We Need From You

Non-Negotiables
  • BS Electrical Engineering degree — required
  • Active PRC license as Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) or Registered Master Electrician (RME)
  • Minimum 2 years of field experience in electrical or power project execution
  • Solid working knowledge of PEC, DOE regulations, and utility interconnection processes
  • Comfortable reading -line diagrams, electrical layouts, and construction drawings
  • Willing to travel to project sites anywhere in the Philippines
Technical Skills We're Looking For
  • Hands-on experience with solar PV systems, BESS, EV charging equipment, or LV/MV electrical installations
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office; knowledge of PVsyst or Helioscope is a plus
  • Familiarity with net metering applications and MERALCO or DU interconnection requirements
  • Understanding of EVIDA implementing rules and DOE EV charging standards
The Kind of Engineer You Are
  • You solve problems on site — you do not wait for someone else to figure it out
  • You take project ownership seriously — your name is on it, and that means something to you
  • You communicate clearly with clients, contractors, and management
  • You are organized enough to juggle multiple projects without losing track of details
  • You show up, follow through, and deliver
