The Opportunity
As a foundational Senior Product Engineer, you will be more than just a developer; you will be an owner of our technology stack. This is a rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor and build the core backend systems and infrastructure for our flagship products, starting with our PUV Compliance Monitoring System (PCMS).
You will work directly with the Head of Technology to establish best practices, make critical architecture decisions, and write the code that will serve as the bedrock for our future growth. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer with a product-focused mindset who is passionate about building robust systems and is eager to grow into a technical leadership position.
Key Responsibilities- Architect & Build: Design, develop, and maintain the core backend services, APIs, and infrastructure for our web applications.
- Own the Database: Take ownership of our database systems, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Deploy with Confidence: Manage the deployment of applications and services on cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Write Quality Code: Produce clean, maintainable, and well-tested code that can scale to serve millions of users.
- Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with product, legal, and leadership teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Champion Best Practices: Contribute to building an engineering culture of excellence, ownership, and "Foundational Integrity & Governance".
- Candidate with full working right for Philippines that is currently residing in the Philippines.
- 3+ years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record of building and launching scalable web applications.
- Deep expertise in at least one modern backend programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Node.js, Java, etc.).
- Strong experience with both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases.
- Hands-on experience with deploying and managing applications on a major cloud provider (GCP, Azure).
- Proficiency with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- A genuine product mindset with a passion for solving complex problems.
- Comfortable using AI-powered development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) to enhance productivity.
Brownie Points (Nice to Have):
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
- A solid understanding of system security best practices.

Our Interview Process
We believe in a straightforward and respectful interview process. The process consists of two rounds, with each round lasting a maximum of 1.5 hours.- Round 1: A technical and cultural discussion with our Head of Technology.
- Round 2: A final interview with either our Head of Product or our CEO to discuss your alignment with our company's mission and product vision.
