SENIOR SAFETY MANAGER

Job Description:

1. Health & Safety - Manage overall implementation of HSE program for the project, Lead incident investigator for Class 1 incidents, Investigation coordinator / reviewer / approver for PC1 & SNM events and follow up actions, Co-ordination of all Lessons Learned to business (Internal Alerts, Industry Alerts, Incident Analysis etc), Lead Trainer (ICAM, Crane, Electrical & Scaffold Appreciation Courses, Class 1 Risk Management), Lead Reviewer (Class 1 Risk Management Reviews), Develop new / review existing process controls as required – based on outcomes of incident investigations.
2. Security - Development of business wide security standards, Manage / coordinate with designated Project Security Coordinators, Conduct / coordinate project security audits, Lead security incident investigations and communicate lessons learned.
3. Pre-Contracts - Support bid team on all H&S input for tenders, Ensuring Class 1 Risk Tender summaries are developed as part of bid process, Develop “bid-stage” Project Safety Plans, Brief tender teams on Safety Management requirements / updates etc.
4. People Management - Set objective goals, evaluate performance of subordinates and provide them regular feedback, identify performance gaps in subordinates and provide necessary support to close such gaps, Recognize and encourage high performing subordinates, Train and mentor subordinates on technical as well as behavioral aspects of their respective roles, provide opportunities to the team to develop their capabilities, resolve issues faced by subordinates.

Qualifications/Requirements

Functions With Objective Factors/Requirements of the Position:

1. Expertise in OH&S requirements for civil, rail, high rise construction projects.
2. Extensive experience working in multinational organizations / company and managing international projects.
3. Experience in OS&H implementation specific both to large bridge, cut and cover, top down/bottom up, D-wall, piling and tunnel construction projects.
4. Experience in managing safety training for staff, workforce, subcontractors, and other stakeholders typical to large construction site.
5. Experience in Injury management, conflict resolution.
6. Experience in liaising with/assisting all levels of senior management with regards to strategic OH&S objectives.
7. Very good communication skills, especially reporting skills, strong leadership skills and results oriented, computer literate - MS office suite

Experience: Minimum of 20 years of experience as OH&S Manager for large multibillion dollar civil, rail, high rise construction project.
